Huh Gak fills in as a DJ for Kim Bum Soo’s ‘Music Plaza’

Singer Huh Gak filled in for Kim Bum Soo‘s radio program, KBS 2FM‘s ‘Kim Bum Soo’s Music Plaza‘, making this his first DJing experience since his debut.

Beginning on October 18th, Huh Gak started hosting the radio program and will do so for three weeks, filling in for Kim Bum Soo, who will be leaving for New York to begin his tour in the U.S.

After successfully concluding his first day as a DJ, Huh Gak expressed, “I was very nervous on the first day of the radio broadcast, so I thought it would get better on the second day. But there’s really nothing you can do when you’re nervous on a live broadcast. I’ll try to inherit Bum Soo’s outstanding DJ skills and will work harder to do my best.”

In other news, in celebration of his 1-year debut anniversary, Huh Gak previously released a digital single, “It Hurts“, and also visited patients at hospital in Bucheon, where he took part in a charity concert. The singer also performed at the ’2012 In October’ festival along with other artists like Brown Eyed Soul, Seo In Guk, K.Will, and Leessang.

Actor Park Si Hoo to guest on ‘Healing Camp’

 

Actor Park Si Hoo has been decided on as an upcoming guest for SBS‘s talk program ‘Healing Camp‘.

On October 19th, a representative of his agency revealed, “Park Si Hoo decided to appear on ‘Healing Camp’ after receiving an offer to guest on the program. Although an exact date has not been confirmed, we believe the recording will take place soon after arranging his schedule.”

Although Park Si Hoo has experience in participating in talk programs like ‘Happy Together‘ with other guests, this will be the actor’s first appearance on a talk program by himself.

The representative continued, “Park Si Hoo is worried because he doesn’t have much variety skills, but he plans to honestly share his stories.”

Park Si Hoo will be returning to the small screen through SBS’s ‘Cheongdamdong Alice‘, which will begin airing in early December.

U-KISS’ Dongho released from hospital

U-KISS’ Dongho has now been released from the hospital.

The idol star, who was sent to the emergency room last week, canceled all his promotional activities to receive treatment for lung issues (pleurisy).

Agency NH Media announced on October 18, “Dongho has been discharged [from the hospital] after receiving surgery on the 15th. His health has greatly improved.”

Dongho has yet to recover completely, however. He’ll be resting at home for the time being. NH Media stated, “He has not recovered completely yet, so he’s resting at home. We’ll be checking in on his condition every day to figure out when he’ll be able to continue his schedule and join U-KISS promotions.”

U-KISS is currently preparing for their upcoming Japanese album.

JYJ’s Jaejoong receives bouquet from Japanese fans

 

JYJ‘s Jaejoong tweeted a photo of himself with a large bouquet of roses.

He simply wrote, “Thank you~~,” and attached a photo of himself smelling the bouquet. The large bouquet was made up of roses in different shades of pink with his initials ‘JJ’ in the middle with red roses.

The bouquet was sent by his Japanese fans who wanted to congratulate Jaejoong on his first big-screen debut with ‘Code Name Jackal‘.

Fans commented, “Jaejoong looks so nice holding the bouquet“, and “I’m jealous of the flower bouquet“.

Lee Byung Hun expected to receive enormous ‘running guarantee’ for ‘Masquerade’

 

The October 17th broadcast of SBS‘ ‘One Night of TV Entertainment’ took an in-depth look inside some of the financial aspects of the entertainment industry.

It was revealed that Lee Byung Hun received 600 million won (~543,000 USD) for his role in ‘Masquerade‘. The actor is also expected to receive a “running guarantee” for the film, which can add up to total earnings of 1 billion won (~905,000 USD).

The first South Korean actor to receive a ‘running guarantee’ was none other than Han Suk Kyu. Han Suk Kyu received 9.5 hundred million won (~860,000 USD) for the film ‘Shiri‘ in ‘running guarantee’ alone.

A ‘running guarantee’ is an incentive payment stars receive when a film breaks even in earnings.

KARA’s Nicole shares bare-face selca at airport

 

KARA‘s Nicole shared a “bare-face selca” on her Twitter account on October 18.

The singer tweeted in Japanese, “The birthday present I received by chance at the airport! It’s handmade! Thank you. My face is bare, so I’ll just show my eyes. As expected, I look better covering my dark circles. Hoo hoot.

In the picture, Nicole shows her bare, flawless face as she holds onto a handmade calendar given to her by a fan at the airport. Nicole’s cool, down-to-earth personality and attitude were noticed by fans and netizens.

Upon seeing the cute snapshot, they commented, “This is a true bare-face selca“, “Nicole’s bare face changes every time“, and “She didn’t dress up because it’s the airport, but she’s still pretty“.

KARA is in the middle of promotions for their seventh Japanese single, “Electric Boy“, which sold approximately 28,000 copies on the first day of sales and has placed 1st on the Oricon Daily Singles Chart.

Jessica and Yunho named the ’2012 Barbie & Ken

 

The ‘2012 Barbie the Dream Closet‘ held its first event on October 18th.

The ‘Barbie the Dream Closet‘ campaign is run by Mattel, and have opened shows in the United States, Canada, Australia, and Asia. The campaign has run in Korea since 2010, and puts forward Barbie as something ‘more than a doll’ that gives dream to children, acting as a style icon and culture muse to women.

The event also awards a pair of celebrities with a ‘Barbie & Ken Award‘, where a female and male celebrity are selected, and a Barbie and Ken doll is created to specifically match their outfit. In 2010, Hwang Jung Eum and Kim Bum were chosen, and in 2011, UEE and Song Joong Ki were named Barbie and Ken.

This year, Girls’ Generation‘s Jessica and TVXQ‘s Yunho were given the honor, receiving the dolls that looked just like them.
